River Song Profile

Besides the Doctor, perhaps no other "Doctor Who" character is as "timey-whimey" as his wife - Dr. River Song (Alex Kingston). Jessica and Phillip try to make sense of her life and times by watching all her episode appearances in the order of her personal chronology and ask ... does it make sense? From baby Melody Pond to regenerated Mel to the River Song we all know (and love!), how does the trial and tribulations of this psychopath assassin become the great love of the Doctor?

In their look in the TARDIS library, the couple visit the First Doctor (William Hartnell) as he falls in love and becomes engaged to Cameca (Margot Van der Burgh) in the early serial "The Aztecs."

I love River! Thank you for the podcast <3 it was wonderful to listen to. I would encourage you to watch the minisodes with River as well, and remember that there were lots more entries in her diary, that are now available in Big Finish series. They add wonderful complexity to the character and are well worth it!
Just a few other comments...
24:30 We do not need an explanation for not surviving the library. She sacrifices herself to save the Doctor.
Specifically in Forest of the Dead the Doctor says: "This is going to kill you! I'd have a chance, you don't have any". And she responds: "You wouldn't have a chance, and neither do I".
29:25 River Song is not in prison as of The Angels Take Manhattan. Any time she is a Professor she is no longer in prison (she is not in prison during the 24 years of Husbands of River Song or later in the Library)
