Dallas and Lee turn their attention to two of the most popular films in the A24 filmography, Midsommar and The Farewell.
Ari Aster's Midsommar follows a couple who travel to Sweden to visit a rural hometown's fabled mid-summer festival. What begins as an idyllic retreat quickly devolves into an increasingly violent and bizarre competition at the hands of a pagan cult. Taking us behind the scenes are Klaudia Csányi who plays Dani's sister, Terri and Rebecka Johnston who stars as Ulrika. In The Farewell, a Chinese family discovers their grandmother has only a short while left to live and decide to keep her in the dark, scheduling a wedding to gather before she dies. The host of Missing Frames, Shawn Eastridge shares with us his interview with its writer/director Lulu Wang and Dallas is joined by film writer Katie Smith-Wong who shares her thoughts on the film.
