Lovely podcast! I just discovered this today and am loving it. It's fascinating hearing you figure out 'Britishisms' haha (come to think of it, the way I used 'lovely' just before is probably a bit British). Regarding keeping Harry locked up in the cupboard, I don't think he missed school because in the next chapter it says that even though it was the summer holidays (or vacation), he couldn't escape Dudley's gang, presumably because he had been going to school the whole time and had to reckon with them every day as it was. So, when he wasn't at school, he was locked in the cupboard. It's a ridiculously long punishment, though. It's almost a month between Dudley's birthday (23rd June) and the start of the summer holidays (mid-July). Poor kid.
