Catching Up on The Godfather

​On March 15, 1972, Francis Ford Coppola's cinematic adaptation of Mario Puzo's best-selling novel The Godfather was released in theaters. The film was a huge hit, the highest grossing of 1972, and went on to be nominated for nine Academy Awards, ultimately winning three including Best Picture. Today, it is widely regarded as one of the greatest films of all time, if not THE greatest. z
