Wrap Party - Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026

​Set inside a cramped catering van, Wrap Party lifts the hatch on the less glamorous end of the film industry, where dreams of being part of the action are often kept alive by serving the people actually making it. Harry Warren and Ollie Hart play a whirlwind array of characters in this fast-paced double act, centred on South Londoners Harry and Ollie, whose catering job on a film set puts them tantalisingly close to the stars while keeping them firmly on the other side of the production line. For performers at the Fringe, there is something particularly recognisable in this setup. The arts are full of people who dream of making a living from their creativity while spending much of their time working hospitality jobs to pay the bills. 

There is a definite throwback to the golden age of shows like Extras, when the absurdity of celebrity culture and the desperation of those orbiting it could be mined for comedy. It feels like the sort of idea that might once have found a natural home on BBC Three, developing its characters across a series of chaotic days on set. Instead, Wrap Party gives us one particularly disastrous day, with the pair rapidly switching between A-listers, crew members and assorted film-set personalities. Some of the characterisation is deliberately broad, but the commitment of the performers keeps the laughs coming.

Yet beneath the celebrity send-ups, the show makes a more affectionate point about who actually keeps the entertainment industry moving. The people making the coffee, feeding the cast and crew, and keeping everyone functioning through long nights are usually invisible to audiences. Wrap Party puts those people centre stage. Its biggest achievement is recognising that while everyone might be chasing the spotlight, the show cannot go on without the people working behind it.
