Bride To Be - Edinburgh Fringe Festival 2026

​Meg Millane is a breathlessly energetic and intensely funny comic, bringing a larger-than-life bride to the cusp of her wedding day in Bride To Be. What follows is a whirlwind through cakes, discos, hen dos, proposals, sex, kids and all the tiny details.

Millane has an instantly likeable stage presence, drawing you into the world of the show before happily catching you off guard time and time again. Her bright, intense delivery makes the surreal turns even funnier, with jokes landing because they arrive from somewhere you simply did not expect.

As someone who got married just under a year ago, and was absolutely the wedding obsessive with the spreadsheet, nearly every beat landed. Millane captures that bizarre little bubble of wedding planning where flowers, RSVPs,  and the DJ suddenly become matters of enormous importance. There is plenty here to recognise, but the comedy comes from pushing those familiar experiences right into the ridiculous.

​The show plays with the fantasy of the perfect wedding while questioning the expectations that come attached to marriage, relationships and gender. Its larger-than-life characters give Millane plenty of room to poke fun at the pressures and contradictions surrounding modern weddings, without losing the affection at their heart. It is a show that can celebrate the ridiculousness of wanting that sparkly dress and the perfect day while still wondering why we have been taught to want all of it in the first place.
