During the 124 days before the release of The Last Jedi, I’m reviewing all 124 minutes of the theatrical version of
The Empire Strikes Back. Join me and together we will watch Star Wars…
In Minute 100:00, Luke passes by that save checkpoint like a cocky S.O.V. He thinks he can face off against Darth without any extra lives and barely any HP. This is why he won’t spawn another hand later in the game. The guy isn’t even a level 7 Jedi until right before the next movie.
Yeah, Luke plays a big game in this lead up to the big duel, but he peeks out from corners like a dodgy Whack-a-Mole.
If only he knew the tragic history of moles in the Lucas-verse.
Once he enters the Cloud City steam room, however, he takes it slower and more careful, as if he doesn’t want to lose Don’t Wake Daddy.
Too bad. Daddy’s home, and he ain’t happy.
Best Performance by a Human: Cautious Luke.
Best Performance by a Non-human: The carbon-freezing chambers lighting and ambient whirring.
Best Line: Vader's "the Force is with you, young Skywalker. But you are not a Jedi yet."
Rating: 6'5" out of David Prowse's 6'6" height.
