Ash v Evil Dead
Ash v Evil Dead's first season was the 'Evil Dead 4' fans had been clamoring for ever since Army of Darkness's release in 1993. It had gore, it had scares and, most importantly, it had Bruce Campbell. Its supporting characters were a bit dull, but whenever Campbell was on-screen, the series shined. I'm nervous about whether or not it'll be able to keep up its momentum in its second season, but regardless, I can't wait to watch him kick more undead booty.
Uh-whaaa? Anyone who knows me knows I've been pretty outspoken about my disdain for the Supergirl series, so let me back up and explain. Yes, it's true I was not a fan of Supergirl's pilot episode. It hurt me, and not in the 'hurts so good' kind of way, but more in a 'hang-Kryptonite-around-my-neck-and-shove-me-into-a-pool' kind of way. I jumped ship immediately after watching the premiere and never looked back (except for that charming Flash/Supergirl crossover episode).
But now that Supergirl had escaped CBS's conniving clutches and has joined its more successful DC superhero brethren on the CW, I'm keeping my fingers crossed that it'll help the show discover a stronger identity and some better storytelling. And as the biggest Superman fan I know (take that, Matt!), I couldn't be more excited to see what Tyler Hoechlin's portrayal of the iconic character has in store for us.
